Mary Kay Rose, Ed.S., LPC, graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies and from James Madison University with an Ed.S. and M.A. in counseling psychology. She also has extensive graduate work in accounting and business.

She has worked in both the business and human services field in a variety of capacities. Mary Kay believes our daily lives offer many opportunities for change and growth. For over 20 years, Mary Kay has had the privilege of working with both individuals and groups as they navigate life’s inevitable challenges and changes, often seeking meaning, purpose, creativity and connection in the process.

In her work and in her life, Mary Kay values the power of wholeness, creativity and connection. Mary Kay has studied a variety of holistic therapies which she incorporates in her life and in her work, including journaling and writing, Yoga, breathwork, mindfulness, meditation, gratitude and deep acceptance.  Mary Kay has special interest, experience and training in relationships, women’s issues, marriage and couple’s counseling and body centered psychotherapy.

Philosophy

Mary Kay brings a supportive, compassionate approach to her counseling, life coaching and teaching, believing that an accepting and affirming relationship is central to the change and transformation process.  She believes the greatest expert in your life is you, and that given a supportive and accepting environment in which to explore beliefs, values, emotions and life experiences, you can move toward and fulfill desired goals and visions and live life authentically and purposefully.  She works from a relational, wellness, holistic, depth and growth oriented perspective, offering creative, expressive, inner directed and body centered modalities in her work with you.
